We all know and love that moment in the ceremony when the couple says “I do”. However, in more recent years, it is becoming increasingly popular to write your own personal wedding vows. Whichever option you and your future spouse decide is best, know that you will be making a commitment of lifelong love!
Personalized
Recently, we have been seeing more and more couples choose to write and deliver their own vows during the ceremony. There’s nothing more beautiful than a well-written love letter exchanged between soul mates! However, not everyone is a writer or speaker or feels comfortable sharing their deepest feelings in front of all of their friends and family. While personal, eloquent vows can add so much emotion to your ceremony, don’t feel like it is your only option!
For an example of beautifully written vows, watch Kelsey and Nathan’s highlight film below!
Traditional
Traditional vows have been repeated during wedding ceremonies for centuries, and for good reason! There is something so classic and romantic in the knowledge that so many couples have secured their love using these words through the years:
“Groom, do you take Bride to be your wedded wife, to live together in marriage? Do you promise to love her, comfort her, honor and keep her for better or worse, for richer or poorer, in sickness and health, and forsaking all others, be faithful only to her, for as long as you both shall live?”
“I do.”
“Bride, do you take Groom to be your wedded husband, to live together in marriage? Do you promise to love him, comfort him, honor and keep him for better or worse, for richer or poorer, in sickness and health and forsaking all others, be faithful only to him so long as you both shall live?”
“I do.”
