How To Announce Your Engagement On Social Media Skip to main content

It’s almost engagement season!! If you and your significant other have been together for a while or you are talking about the future, you might be receiving a ring soon! Start planning ahead and get excited about how to announce this important step together as the time approaches. Here are a few of our favorite engagement announcements that we have seen on social media:

Reverent Wedding Films

The Ring Selfie

This is a classic for a reason! It’s the fastest way to tell your friends and followers about your new title of fiancé. Pro tips for a great ring selfie: Natural lighting! Go outside or pose near a window to utilize the sunlight. Having a great background and a fresh manicure helps too!

‘Prop’ The Question

Similar to the ring selfie, get creative with props to show off your new bling! A Starbucks cup that says ‘Future Mrs.’ or ‘Fiancé’ is a cute touch for the caffeine addict, or use a chalkboard sign to write your own message! Use a chalkboard pen or marker to help with your lettering and ask a friend, family member, or professional photographer to document your new status together.

Puppy Love

Pets are like family, so why wouldn’t you include them in your engagement announcement? Dress them up and include them in your photo shoot to tell the world that their humans are tying the knot!

In The Moment

Drop a few subtle (or not-so-subtle!) hints that when he pops the question, you want it documented! We’ve seen couples hire a hidden photographer to capture a still of the moment, but what if you have the entire proposal filmed? You would be able to relive the moment where he chose you forever and share it with all of your friends! Check out this beautiful engagement film of one of our Reverent couples, Jacklyn and Nick!

Reach out if you want us to capture that once-in-a-lifetime moment!

Most importantly, have fun and get creative while announcing your engagement and don’t forget to update your Facebook relationship from “in a relationship” to “engaged”!
